Week at a Glance

Couleefest
Couleefest is fast approaching! Next week on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon we will be presenting our projects to the school and community. Make sure if you are baking something to do it this weekend and freeze it or prepare to do it Mon/Tues next week! Food should be brought to school in a cooler if it needs to stay cold. Remember you do NOT need a full size sample of your food product for every person - you can half or quarter items!! It's just supposed to be a tiny taste if you have samples. Any other elements of your project that are unfinished can be worked on this weekend. You may have a small bit of time next week but we will need to practice presenting next week as well! Parents are welcome to either day. Come and celebrate with us!

HUMS
  • Book Buffet - we wrapped up our Book Buffet this week! Wow - there were some very tasty looking projects! Congrats on all your hard work on these displays.
  • If you did not finish your book buffet, please take the weekend and next week to finish it and hand it in to Mrs. Croswell
  • Cumulative Sum-up Page - we completed our recap of the Canadian History Timeline this week! We looked back at 15 important events throughout the last few hundred years ands summed each of them up with one sentence (that's hard!) and one picture.
  • If you did not finish your sum-up page, please finish over the weekend and hand it in on Monday.
  • Next week - we are moving on to an A-Z recap of our year in HUMS as well as starting to get a bit of a sneak peak at what is waiting for us in grade 6 next year!
MATH

  • Students have been working on transformational geometry!
  • Ask them about translations, rotations, and reflections
  • We have some art based math work coming up around this as well as some more work with problem solving and statistics.
  • More to come!
