Week at a Glance

Reminders: There is no school tomorrow, April 19th, or on Monday, Apr 22nd. We look forward to seeing everyone on Apr 23rd, 2019!

HUMS
-CPR Essays were due today. Students may take the long weekend and hand it in first thing before the bell on Tuesday morning if need be. Essays must be handed in prior to school starting to not be counted as late.
-There will be a quiz on Confederation, NWMP, CPR, and Western Immigration on Thursday, April 25th.  Students are allowed to bring in all of their Questions to Know sheets (where they have taken notes on these topics) to the quiz as well as their web/list on how the CPR changed Canada. If students have additional notes they would like to bring in that they took in class, they need to check them with Mrs. Croswell prior to the quiz date.

MATH
-Students continued to work on equivalent fractions as well as turning mixed numbers into improper fractions.
-We worked on several worksheets to help us cement down our understanding of this work.
-Students in both 5-1 and 5-2 have been asked to have these sheets completed for Tuesday. Some students finished during class time.

SCIENCE
-We worked throughout the week on looking at static electricity and safety with electricity.
-Students worked on identifying problems with some scenarios and have come up with rules that they could follow to avoid these dangerous situations.
-Next week we will be moving onto beginning to look at circuits and electrical pathways.
-We will begin working online with several programs and will then move into building and testing various methods to see if our circuits work.
-We will also be working on some experiments with static and various electrical challenges.

5-1 and 5-2 Collective Understanding PowerPoints
-Students are reminded that they must have their second artifact will need to be uploaded to our collective understandings before school starts on Friday, April 26th. We will be going over the collective understandings as groups in class and contributions need to be in on time. 
-Students are asked to complete at least one math artifact and one science artifact before Friday.
-Students received a mark in their math for the contribution last week and will receive a mark in their science for the April 26th contribution.
