HUMS
5-1 is working on their creative writing piece for the Canadian Physical Regions task. This is due on Friday, Dec. 14th. It must be typed according to the specifications in the blue booklet, printed, and coloured/designed in some way. Students may take this home to work on during the week. They can begin working on their artifacts as soon as they are done their creative writing. Please bring any needed materials to class so it can be worked on here.

5-2 should be on their artifacts (purple booklet). Please make sure any materials you need for your artifact are coming to school so you can work on them here. If you are still on your creative writing, please work on this at home and during class time to get it done as soon as you can and handed-in (as it was due Dec 5th). Thank you!

The True Blue Scouts of Sugar Man Swamp --> today we started our next read aloud. This will be an active read aloud where students are taking notes about important action, events, moments, and characters as well as new vocabulary words.
Today, we went through the first 5 chapters as a class, discussing what was important to write down and making note of new or difficult words together as a class.
When we are done the entire story, we will work on turning into a graphic novel, with each student taking on a small part of the book to turn into a single page.

SCIENCE

Students in 5-1 and 5-2 began working on the initial stages of their 'Meteorologist for a Day' assignment. Students have been asked to answer a series of questions about air pressure, humidity, weather fronts and more. We will be working on answering these questions over the next few days using Weather Whiz Kids to support us.
