HUMS
- We did a quick review in the form of a sticky note check-in on natural resources
- We have been exploring the regional map of Canada in class
- We wrapped up our Exploring Canada's Regions slideshow where we put to use some of our new note-taking skills
- We started our BIG TASK that will take us into December! Our first part is doing research on one of the six regions of Canada that was assigned to us
- We are getting used to using the coloured booklets that are provided for this project along with the checklists inside of them to help guide our work
- We are continuing to read Holes and are getting close to being finished! Stanley and Zero seem to be in quite the pickle at the moment! We will be watching the movie after we finish the book so we can compare and contrast the similarities and differences between the two and examine why changes would have been made to the movie (please email bpcroswell@cbe.ab.ca if you are not okay with your student participating in the movie experience)
MATH
SCIENCE
- We began working on our understanding of multiplication this week
- we continued to review our understanding of place value, addition, and subtraction
SCIENCE
- We worked on our understanding of the different types of wetlands
- We broke into groups to research the wetland classifications that Mrs. Simmons gave us
- Students will be co-creating a poster of their wetland types to help their fellow learners understand the differences between bogs, fens, marshes, swamps, and ponds.
- More to come!
